much better than a single-chamber bed

The way the air chambers and baffles are arranged makes this mattress superior in every way compared to a typical single-chamber mattress. It's not just that you don't jostle your bed partner every time you move. Because the chambers are much smaller, the bed doesn't have to be inflated as tensely for a given firmness when you lie down, putting less strain on the vinyl shell most of the time. The complex arrangement of chambers and baffles also means less strain on the ENDS of the longitudinal baffles, making baffle failure and ripping of the shell at those points less likely. The shell of my old single-chamber mattress ripped at those points repeatedly. Because of these advantages, this design holds up much better than a single-chamber mattress.
These advantages are not obvious and the seller needs to point them out in their sales pitch.
